Loves & Such

This page is about those people who have greatly inspired me to pursue and keep pursuing what I love to do and who have in one way or another, blessed me beyond measure.  Also are some of the things that really make me happy when I create.

My mom.
Because of who she is, I am.
I am grateful for the gift she passed down to me.

This was taken at Christmas, where handmade gifts were given that year. I gave her "By the shore", which holds so much sentimental value for us both. (and my daughter-in-law made the aprons.)

Ben Keys.
By him doing the thing that God put in him, and doing it so very well, that in itself, has inspired me in such an incredible way. I am blessed to know him not only as an artist, but as my friend,
and brother in the Lord.
I am grateful.
Thank you.

Give me an old, vintage tool any day!  These prized relics, although not the fastest or extremely precise at times, make me feel like my work is brought about with the feeling of days gone by. And I like that.

My Studio....oh how I love this sun-laden room.
The counters are doors with glass on top.
Awesome music fills this room when I create.
I use my awesome vintage Underwood typewriter on
coffee stained index cards to tell information
about the painting and any thoughts or feelings
I was having during creating it.
And yes, the coffee cup is a permanent fixture in my room!
Ahhhh....my saw.  Although I've gotten quite a few blisters
on my hands after completing a frame,
there is nothing like hard, satisfying work.

What you can't see here is the sweat.
The south, in the summer, in the garage, produces this!!

I use this pot and burner to heat the bees wax
for some of my pieces.  I love the effect and feel
the wax gives to a piece.
